Welcome to the Protected Open Space Tracking (POST) System |
The POST system allows users to view maps of protected open space as well as accessing information regarding protected parcels. If you click on the “View Maps & Records” bar to the left, you can view a map of protected open spaces. Once you are on the map you can:
- Use the “Legend” tool to view the map features, which are mapped using different colors.
- Use the “Find” tool to locate a specific parcel in the map by entering its parcel number. Chester County’s Chescoviews application can be used to find out the parcel number of a property based in its address or owner.
- Use the “Identify” tool to click on a parcel and get information about it. Clicking on the triangle in the pop-up box will provide information on how much of the parcel is protected along with the name of the organization(s) owns or has an easement on the parcel.

Disclaimer: The Chester County Planning Commission (CCPC) has inventoried protected open spaces on an annual basis since 2002. In 2011, the CCPC began using the POST system to record protected open space. The data entered into POST is submitted by municipalities, land trusts, and various other state and county agencies. Because the CCPC relies on outside sources for the base data, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the data. Therefore, all maps and reports generated by POST should be regarded as estimates. |
